Rider Level Horsemanship ClassesFebruary 21, 2015
We will be taking participants through weekly classes covering progressive horsemanship skills from Equine Canada's National Rider Level program. Classes covering Rider Level 1 and 2 topics will take place over 6 weeks - starting Saturday Feb 21st from 9-11 a.m. and continuing each Saturday until April 4th (no class March 21st). For those that wish to continue, four more classes will follow which cover topics from Rider Levels 3 and 4 (April 11th, 18th, 25th & May 2nd).
Cost for the First six weeks -- including your manual covering Rider 1 & 2 = $100 + hst = $114
Cost for the entire 10 weeks of classes - including TWO manuals cover Rider 1 - 5 = $175 + hst = $199.50

Horsemanship classes!September 20, 2014
Storybook Stables is hosting a four-week horsemanship program for kids ages 6 and up, based on the national P'tit Trot program!
The four-week session will include a beautifully illustrated four-chapter booklet (we will cover one chapter each week), four certificates (one for each level) and some other goodies as well. Each chapter (Bronze Horseshoe, Silver Horseshoe, Gold Horseshoe and Platinum Horseshoe) covers specific topics on horse care. As participants complete each chapter, they can place the matching horseshoe sticker on their certificate. Our two-hour session each week will be divided between classroom and hands-on exercises in the barn.
Classes will run from 2-4 p.m. Saturday afternoons - Sept. 20, 27th, Oct. 4th and 11th. Cost including your workbook, certificates and weekly sessions in $100 + HST ($114).

Want to broaden your horse experience? Join us for an afternoon of ground handling techniques, including ‘join up’ activities, desensitizing games, and other natural horsemanship approaches.
Working with horses on the ground not only provides insight into the nature of horses, but helps improve your understanding – and your horse’s understanding – of techniques you are asking under saddle.
Bring your own horse or use one of Storybook’s and join us for an afternoon of fun and horse games! Space limited to max. of 6 participants per session.

Training with Confidence, Competence and IntegrityNovember 6, 2010
This short course will introduce you to a comparative analysis of training systems and offer you tools to consider your own training ideals. Whether you are looking to develop a program that suits both you and your horse or simply compliment your current training system, this course offers something for everyone. All the work will be done unmounted, using horses at the farm. 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. $50 + GST.

Field Trips, Family Fun Days, Community Groups, Corporate Picnics, Family Reunions, Pony Rides and more! 

In addition to our regular programs, we open the farm to the public on specific days throughout the year (see below).

These events give children and families the opportunity to come meet the animals and experience first hand the benefits of spending time in nature.

Whether you are cuddling a cow or hug
ging a goat, enjoying the walking trails along the creek, or relaxing in a hammock while the kids play in the park, you will leave feeling restored. 

In addition to our designated days (see below), we take group bookings throughout the year for field trips, community groups, company picnics, family reunions and more!

Note: pony rides available at many of these events (at an additional charge) 

 
Starting May 21, 2017, the farm will be open to the public on Sundays, from noon to 4 p.m. 
Stroll around on your own or join in on a farm tour (at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30) to meet and learn more about our animals. Pony rides will take place from 1-3 p.m. Admission is $5 (under 2 are free!).
Pony rides are $6.


FIELD TRIPS/GROUP VISITS (by appointment)

Thank you so much for today!  The kids had a BLAST and I know they will be talking about this for a while!  Everything was very well organized and all of your helpers were fantastic with the kids.  We are all so happy we chose Storybook Adventures for our end of the year field trip.  We all had a great time!    C.C. 

We love welcoming visitors of all ages to meet and learn about our animals and experience all the benefits that life on the farm has to offer – from plenty of room to run, jump, climb, and play, to fresh air, friendships and fun! 

We offer TWO types of field trip options to suit your needs. Both will include a minimum of eight animal ‘stations’ (horses, goats, sheep, lama, donkey, hens, roosters, cow, pigs, rabbits, turkeys and more).

Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will escort your group throughout the farm, which will also include signage with fun facts and information about all our animal friends.

 Half day visit: *$5 (+HST) per child (approx. 9:30  am – 12 noon) – includes picnic area for snack  (upon arrival), introductions and farm map, and  then hours of fun meeting all our animal friends.  

·     *Price based on 20 participants. Smaller groups  are welcome too!Please contact us for details.

·     Bus drivers and chaperones are free!

Full Day: *$8 (+HST) per child (approx. 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.) Morning activities as for ‘half day visits’, plus lunch in our picnic/play area. After lunch teachers/chaperones may choose to take the children down to our games area to enjoy some of our fun camp activities (egg-and-spoon, sack race, three legged race, walk the plank, ball hops, 30' parachute and more), tackle the wooded obstacle course and take a stroll along the lazy river and interpretive trail as you learn fun facts about PEI nature, ecology and wildlife.

Full day admission also includes an ADL Ice Cream Sundae cup for every child!
